“The Alamo Colleges District is developing a new Westside Education and Training Center with the city of San Antonio, Westside Development Corp., and Edgewood Independent School District.
The new center, made possible by a $23 million allocation of district bond money approved in 2017, will replace an existing facility on Southwest 40th Street near U.S. Highway 151.
Alamo Colleges officials have not determined where the new workforce development center will be. One option is on the site of the current facility.
Alamo Colleges Chancellor Bruce Leslie, who is retiring in September, played a key role in securing support for the planned new center. It’s not clear yet what the size or scope of the project will be as stakeholders are just now launching a design phase, which will take several months to complete.”
